Jason Hanley, High-Quality Technology Manager & Master Remote Worker
Jason is the founder of Hanley Studios, a brilliant consulting company. His specialties include developing and managing software, but he is also a man with many passions that have taken him worldwide. After coming to terms with learning how to live the 4 hour workweek Jason and his wife became jet setters worldwide, spending time in New Zealand, Europe, St. Kitts, in the Carribean, and Canada. BUT he and David Mansilla started in the same office. They were able to put together resources and started creating opponents together in the same field. They became competitors, but as the saying goes, "Competition is just an illusion." Jason and David both made their way to the top resulting in life in cooperation and abundance.
Learn how they were able to break the illusion of competition to start living life to the fullest in three simple steps:
1) Follow The 4 Hour Work Week
Both David and Jason can’t recommend this book enough. The 4 Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris is the perfect first step to preparing your mindset to start changing. David admits that he wasn’t ready to take on its principle right away the first time he read it. As he had his big personal breakthrough later in life, he went back to it and understood and started practicing its lessons.
Understanding that there are more ways to live life beyond your 9-5 will help you begin opening up to new opportunities.
2) Build Connections
Once you are ready to begin taking on new opportunities, building connections should be your top priority. While Jason and David shared an office, they didn’t just build a strong friendship, but they also built trust that opened the gates for collaboration. If you continue to live a life around making connections, you will always surpass “competition” because you will have a support team to fall back on for advice.
Remembering to do this no matter where you are is the key, even Jason, after he came back to live in Toronto, Canada for a year, he took part in a co-op that allowed him to meet more like minded people wanting to grow.
3) Take the Leap
Taking chances is the only way to get anywhere. If you’ve prepared yourself mentally for remote working and living, you’ve built connections and the skillset to build more; you are now ready to take the leap.
As both David and Jason have proven, their collaboration was a starting point for them to kick off and create the incredible lives and businesses they have. Take chances and remember competition is an illusion; collaboration is the key!
