The Secrets of A Successful Entrepreneur

David Zumpano, Founder of Lawyers With Purpose, Co-founder of Guidr.

In our episode with David Zumpano, you’ll learn the secrets of becoming a successful entrepreneur. Learn the mindset, the habits, and the attitude that will push you to a better life.

Here are the top three lessons from David Zumpano’s life:

Lesson #1: The Mindset Shift

When you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life. David Zumpano shared his mindset when he decided to go for something he loves doing. He wasn’t there for the money— he was there to add value. When you start things with value and purpose, money becomes a byproduct of it. Most billionaires start this way; they solved a problem in society and people valued what they did.

Lesson #2: Become a Lifetime Learner

Learning and discovering is a lifetime process. When you keep learning, you develop a lot of skills, and David Zumpano highlighted listening skills among them. He said he learned more from asking people questions and listening to them.

There are so many resources out there, some of them being the people we hang out with. Jim Rohn said, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” David Zumpano pointed out the importance of the people you spend most of your time with and how they can influence you. So, always look for those who see opportunities, gifts, greatness, and blessings, because they will make you a better person and an even better entrepreneur.

Lesson #3: You Get More Than What You Give

Entrepreneurs receive more when they give more to people, whether it's their knowledge, talent, time, attention, or value. This is the secret for most successful entrepreneurs on how they succeed. According to David Zumpano, the more God has blessed him, the more he felt obligated to give to others. Something amazing happens to an entrepreneur when he/she starts to think selflessly. There is a change of mindset, a change of perspective, and a change in what motivates actions.

There are some who separate their lives as an entrepreneur from their lives with their loved ones, but the reality really is you only have one life. Make the best out of it.
