One of the Essential Skills Every Entrepreneur Needs to Master: Patience

Ilan Jacobson, CEO of FirePower

Ilan Jacobson is a CEO and founder of FirePower Capital, a Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) advisory and a game-changer private capital firm. Ilan loves what he is doing and this was crucial to his comeback after a three year near bankruptcy.

Here are three life changing lessons from Ilan’s life:

Lesson #1: The Key To Knowing Your Passion Is Knowing Who You Are.

It’s very difficult to know your passion when you don’t know who you are. It is to have an awareness of what your great potential is, identifying your obstacles, and knowing what makes you special. That is a great kick starter for you to know your passion. Loving what you do will make things easier for you.

Lesson #2: There Is No Substitution To Experience

Ilan believes that being smart alone cannot bypass the process of the wisdom we gain from experience. When working towards success, “hacking life” is not the solution. Many self-help leaders and other successful individuals did not start that way. They had to overcome obstacles and put in the time to get where they are.

It’s not easy to believe in yourself when things go wrong. So there must be a support system to lift you up, which was his wife. His business was struggling but it was the best learning experience for him and the process brought fruit later on.

Lesson #3: Getting Yourself Out of The Way

David and Ilan talked about leadership and how to empower the people around you. Leadership is trusting your people in what they are good at and helping them succeed. By getting out of the way and trusting those around you, you’re opening the windows of opportunity for you and the people you work with.

The point of life is to maximize our happiness and the happiness around us.
