What is the 80/20 rule?

20% of your efforts are responsible for 80% of your results.

This means that you need you start working smarter not harder because you can get the same results with less effort if you apply yourself correctly. This doesn’t mean that you can now go and be lazy either… This is a strategy so that you can gain more fulfillment out of life rather then just a paycheck.

Once you master applying this rule to your career, you can then apply it to your health and wellbeing.

Signs that you are not living the 80/20 rule:

  • You’re buying fast food more then you should be to combat not having time to cook

  • It’s been too long since you’ve seen or communicated with friends

  • You don’t have time for experiencing life past the boundaries of work

After David learned the 80/20 rule he applied it to his business. For the longest time he was paying people per hour, which is typically the norm, but this meant in order for people to get paid more they would need to work more and this creates stress on company culture. To fix this issue with the 80/20 rule, he started to pay his workers based on performance. This meant they were now salaried, could take however long it took, and clients were happier with the results.

Conclusion: Why use the 80/20 Rule?

If you are tired of feeling tired, you need to start using this tool. Learning where you are taking too much time doing something that coud be automated, OR just putting in all the brunt work isn’t always worth it.

It will take some time to fully grasp and master this concept but once you do you can apply it everywhere and it will change your life.
