Why Should Entrepreneurs Focus On Serving Others?

Daniel Linares, Founder and Virtual Event Producer of DLE Event Group

Every entrepreneur can learn from any circumstance they are in and make it an advantage to innovate and see the needs in the market. In this episode with Daniel Linares, we are going to talk about overcoming common challenges. We’ll also discuss how the meaning of life is to help as many people as possible, and how that mindset will make your business successful.

Allow New Circumstances To Challenge You To Grow

Uncomfortable circumstances can bring out the best in us, especially during this pandemic. Although many businesses shut down because of the global pandemic, many also started new businesses. One example is Daniel and his company DLE Event Group, who found the need for virtual events during the peak of the pandemic, from a school that needed a virtual graduation event.

One of the things entrepreneurs should realize is that when opportunities come, you have to seize it, or else it will not be available anymore. When a new challenge comes, you have to take it in order to achieve growth. If Daniel waited for a couple of years to figure it out because he hadn’t done it yet, the opportunity in front of him would have been gone by the time he would have been ready. Entrepreneurs should challenge themselves to the things they are not comfortable with, in short, to leave their comfort zone.

Learn From The Masters

The world of entrepreneurship is one filled with resources. From online publications to peers to friends and family, advice about starting and running a business abounds. But a dedicated business mentor with experience in your field can make the most impact on the growth of your business.

A true mentor relationship is a two-way street–your mentor gets to learn about new strategies from you, while you gain wisdom from them. On top of that, it’s a (usually) free resource to help you start and grow your small business. To make it work, however, you need to find and maintain a relationship with a business mentor.

Freedom Can Be Found Outside Your Comfort Zone

When you stay in your comfort zone for a long period of time, you tend to be more scared to do something else. But for a business owner to achieve freedom, going outside your comfort zone is a necessary step. Though we would prefer to have our lives run smoothly, the truth is that challenges and setbacks are a blessing in disguise because they help us expand. Think for a minute about the times that you’ve learned the most about yourself, shown the most character, or grown the most as a person; those were the times when you were outside of your comfort zone.

As the famous athlete, Kobe Bryant, once said, “If you are afraid to fail, then you’re probably going to fail.” One of the secrets to success is to get used to uncomfortable feelings, and let go of the fear of failure. The more you expose yourself, the more you become better. This is how you find freedom in life. Some entrepreneurs are stuck being a prisoner in their businesses. It could run without them, but because they are scared of new changes, they cannot achieve freedom.

Enjoy The Now

The truth is your goals, no matter how big, are achievable. Many people have done it and have created systems and steps to get there. But the sad truth is that many successful people are not happy, they do not feel contented. It is good to be an achiever but never forget to enjoy the now, look back at where were you before and where you are now, and be happy with what you have become. The secret to winning in life is not the billions, but the feeling of fulfillment and the good relationships you have. Enjoying the now also means being proud of yourself for what you have accomplished. The version of you now is the better version of you from 5 or 10 years ago.

Conclusion

Every entrepreneur comes from a different background and has different challenges to overcome, whether it’s in their business or personal lives. These challenges can become an advantage when you try to be selfless and be of service to others. What you give, you receive. Many businesses fail because they are focusing on themselves, their product, and sales. But when you try to listen to people and be of service, you give value to people and they will give it back to you, one way or another.

Give without expectation. Life gives right back.
